Salary:  £42,000 - £45,000 + Shift allowance

The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician to join our team at Damhead Creek. In this role, you will support the Production Team Leader in all production-related activities while ensuring the power station operates efficiently and safely. You will play a key role in monitoring and operating the station in line with energy management requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant safely and efficiently.
• Support the Production Team Leader in all operational activities.
• Diagnose and resolve plant-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Protection Act.
• Implement company policies and procedures related to station operations.
• Carry out operational routines, plant testing, and maintenance activities within competence.
• Manage and supervise contractors on site.
• Conduct self-audits on Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance and complete behavioural audits of contractors and staff.
• Communicate with National Grid to ensure compliance with REMIT and load profiles.
• Assist in driving operational improvements and efficiency initiatives.

What we're looking for

• Minimum Apprenticeship/ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years' experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a CCGT plant.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to optimise plant performance.
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Proficiency in computer systems and control software.
• Ability to support electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work.
• Excellent teamworking, communication, and time management skills.
