Technical Resolution Engineer
Bridgwater
Up to £295.00 PAYE Contract (+ 36 days paid leave) or up to £395.00pd via approved umbrella
Initial CED 31/12/2025. Rolling 12 months thereafter
The successful applicant will a key member of the wider Technical Engineering Group within the Joint Design Office [JDO] and will manage the resolution of emergent design issues that span several work areas. The role will give visibility of a wide variety of topics across the project with an open remit to solve technical issues.
Nature and Scope
Day-to-day whilst working in the wider organisation:
- You will be responsible for management or delivery of technical solutions to emergent transverse works issues. The issues will become more MEH issues with greater safety case implications as the project progresses.
- Building relationships across, JDO R&A, JDO DT, Responsible Designer, Project Managers, Contract Managers and the construction contractors.
- Interfacing with TCO PWRT or TCO Safety Case team, where necessary.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives to improve project delivery.
- Participation in Configuration Management board meetings
- Contributing to the reporting of JDO KPIs.
As a Technical Resolution Engineer reporting into the Technical Lead you will:
- Be an organised, motivated individual able to communicate with a variety
- of stakeholders.
- Be proactive in chasing delivery and performance of others.
- Attend and contribute to meetings when required.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
You must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Ability to use CAD is desirable.
- Understand design models and engineering drawings.
- Must be approachable, adaptable, communicative and proactive
You will need to:
- Be resilient, adaptable and have a willingness to learn and develop.
- Be able to work and act autonomously.
- Be pragmatic and practical in your approach to developing solutions.
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to resolve straightforward issues of low complexity/risk in own technical discipline/area autonomously.
- Be a competent user of Microsoft software.
- A degree in engineering working towards chartership is desirable. No specific engineering disciple is necessary, although Civil engineering is desirable at this stage of the project.
- Some design experience or other project experience is desirable but not essential.
- EPR building, plant and system knowledge is desirable
