Job Description

Job Title: Technical Supplier Cost Professional

Reporting Line: Head of Performance and Life Cycle Management

Division: Mobility

Business Unit: Rolling Stock

Location: Crawley

Stakeholders & Interfaces:

Head of Performance and Life Cycle Management, Fleet Delivery Manager, Fleet Head of Materials, Materials Manager, Project Manager, Commercial Manager, Planning Manager, Head of Production, Production Managers, Technical Manager and Suppliers.

Responsibilities

Financial Management: Oversee daily operations, meet budget goals, monitor costs, and ensure compliance. Report financial metrics to relevant teams.

Rolling Stock: Develop understanding of rolling stock components and their technical functions under M&D control.

Health, Safety & Environment: Implement safety systems, ensure compliance with HSEW policies, promote team engagement in safety measures, and take responsibility for environmental care.

Behaviours: Exhibit Siemens values, behaviours, and conduct guidelines as a role model.

Project Management: Manage project cost reporting, align with project managers, contribute to supplier processes, and ensure supply transparency.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How

Essential:

  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance processes.
  • Ability to understand, manage and enforce supplier contract deliverables.
  • Experience of managing supplier/customer relationships against contractual delivery.
  • Engineering background, appreciation of maintenance practices through qualification or experience.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems/software, able to read, interpret and manage spreadsheets and project tools.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong organisation/planning skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, comfortable with the review and development of management information.
  • Engineering technical awareness.
  • Commercial experience.
