Job Description

Job title: Senior Radiation Physicist
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: Subject to Clearance
Salary Range: Up to £49,000
Benefits: 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme - 6-8% Matched, Flexible start & Finish times.
Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Hybrid Working Available - 1-2 Days Per Week
Hours of work: 37 Hours + Overtime Available (Double time for anything able two hours)

Role & Responsibilities:
* Carry out radiological safety assessments
* Assess radiation damage risk to electronics
* Develop and deploy radiation detection systems
* Complete the systems engineering design of the secondary shielding system
* Run and analyse calculations
* Provide technical advice on impact of changes and defects
* Developing ALARP justifications in support of design decisions

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field
* Demonstrable knowledge/experience of radiation physics, nuclear engineering, nuclear safety or similar
* Knowledge/experience of Radiological safety assessments, ALARP justifications or similar
* Knowledge/experience of radiation transport methods (ATTILLA/MCBEND/MCNP etc.)
* Good written and verbal communication skills
