Job Description

Job title: Engineering Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £70,000 + 10% Bonus
Location: Barrow-In-Furness - 4 Days On Site - 1 WFH
Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week

Must Have…
* Detailed understanding and experience of the control and operation of strategic weapons systems
* Knowledge of the management and conduct of nuclear safety significant activities
* Understanding of how the Test Group Chair contribute to the organisational focus on achieving and sustaining high standards of safety and on delivering a high reliability organisation
* Deep understanding and experience of conservative and operational decision making in a high hazard environment

Role Information
* Playing an active role across all build and test areas but is responsible for the governance within a specified area
* Providing Executive Authority to the Strategic Weapons Test Group (SWTG) and ensure that it conducts its business in accordance with its Terms of Reference and remains within its boundary of authority
* Recognised as a key person in their department, beyond their peer group for their technical knowledge, experience and competence
* Ensuring the full scope of nuclear, product, environmental and personnel safety is adequately considered within Authorisation Group business
* Becoming a business SME on the commissioning and operation of the Strategic Weapons Systems and associated systems
* Be a deputy or relief Test Group Chair with delegated authority from the SWTG Chair
