Job Description

Job title: Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £65,000 Depending on experience
Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week

Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science
- Understanding of the design, build, commissioning and operation of Reactor Plant systems
- Able to produce technical reports

Ideally applicants should also have:
- Engineering experience in design and build of systems including safety and quality
- Able to lead engineering investigations including Root Cause Analysis
- Able to put forward clear and concise reasoning to support judgements

Role information:
- Support and lead Nuclear Safety Engineering activities
- Apply Safety Engineering techniques to resolve emerging issues
- Provide documentation, advice and services concerning safety cases
- Develop technical solutions to issues arising during the construction and commissioning phases
- Provide inputs against design, build and commissioning requirements in support of the build phases
- Carry out nuclear safety assessments of changes and deviations from the initial design intent
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements and needs are met
