Job Description
Job title: Human Factors Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 16 Months - 66 weeks
Pay Rate: Up to £70/hr Umbrella
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Devonport
Hours of work: 37 hours Mon-Friday
Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Degree in Psychology
- MSc in Occupational Psychology, Applied Psychology or Industrial Psychology
- Significant experience in a highly regulated industry
- Good understanding of nuclear safety assessment principles and safety case production
- Familiar with HF qualitative and quantitative HRA techniques
- Experienced in the application of human factors knowledge in support of the engineering system and process design
- Able to deliver work packages against tight deadlines
- Able to gain SC clearance
Role information:
- Provide professional support to the Principle Human Factors Engineer
- Provide support to the development and mentoring of junior team members
- Carry out human factors assessment work in support of ergonomic design development, safety assessment and the validation of the human performance elements of high hazard systems
- Prepare work scopes, cost estimates and programmes for human factors assessment work to be undertaken
- Check HF assessment work undertaken by other team members
- Engage with regulatory bodies on HF related issues
