Rebecca Boniface: “I’m taking part in a mud run to fundraise for Cancer Research”

I work at Rullion as an Account Consultant. I have been part of the company for almost a year and a half and have had the chance to develop my career within our Managed Solutions division, starting as an Account Coordinator before being promoted to Account Consultant in February 2018. As a highly motivated recruitment consultant, I am in charge of finding great talent for our clients. I am going to participate in a mud run to raise money for Cancer Research.

I am going to be taking part in a mud run in June. It's a 5k muddy obstacle course for women. This will be me covered from head to toe in mud!

Cancer research is something that is close to my heart with my dad recently having skin cancer removed and also my granddad successfully having the all clear for his stomach cancer. Without their research and dedication, I might not be telling the same story.

In Manchester, there are 730 cancer cases per year and around 350 result in death. These are very hard statics to swallow. Donating and raising money for this cause is something that is hugely needed and if we could all encourage one more person to donate, they will hopefully not be the stats of 2019.

I am not a sporting type so this is going to be a challenge for me in itself. If all goes well I may look at increasing the challenge with more mud and obstacles.

I started working at Rullion as a Construction Admin and have worked my way up to now managing the recruitment of two sites of a global energy company. Anything is possible here and if you put the hard work in, you are rewarded. People at Rullion always see how things could be better and improved. For myself, that is a huge motivation for my own development. The management and support is second to none, I wouldn't be where I am today without the Rullion people.
